Barner’s Church has been making delicious apple butter for a long time, but preparation for the event begins months in advance. We also sell soups, chicken corn and ham and bean. Handmade crafts by our congregation and locals are also available for sale! The stands open at 10am and it is first come, first served.
Please join us in preparing for this wonderful day!
We can always use extra hands for removing the corn from the cobs, deboning chicken, shredding ham, and of course apple schnitzing! The apple schnitzing takes place the Friday morning before the event. This year it will be on October 10, 2025 at 10am. Dates for helping with other items will be posted here as soon as they become available.
As Beth always says, “more hands make light work!” And we are very thankful for any help you are able to give. This is a community fundraiser for our first responders, their supporters, our local pools, and any other community need.
And don’t worry, schnitizing is just a fancy Dutch word for cutting up apples that are already peeled. Please bring a paring knife and large bowl if you have one. If not, we will provide what you need. We also provide a hot lunch for you!
